What is Vedic Astrology?

Vedic astrology is also referred as Hindu astrology or Indian astrology or jyotish sashastra. It is originated and flourished in India It is the result  of hard work of great rishis(Hindu monks).A good astrologer can predict the events which will take place in the life of the person wither by reading his horoscope or with the help of prasna kundali( question answer prediction).First we will discuss detail about how to read a kundali.(birth chart). In present times, when human life became complex and tough more and more people are running to astrologers to get their problems solved. Many times they spend hard earned money in the name of remedies. If you have the correct knowledge of the vedic astrology you can read your horscope, and understand which dasa is good for you and which dasa is unfavorable for you.

What is Birthchart ?(Kundali ) /horoscope?
First we must understand what do you mean by horoscope. According to vedic astrology the heavenly  bodies like stars and moons in the sky  in the circular path which is known as zodiac.A horoscope or birth chart shows the position of the stars and planets at the time of birth of a child.The positions of stars and planets along with many other factors helps in predicting about the events associated with the life of persons. To judge the events correctly,it is much necessary required the correct date,time and location of the native.

Let's discuss an example to understand  how a ho.roscope looks like. Have a look at the given image of a square. The below is north indian format.

The above diagram shows the horoscope of a native.This is based on north Indian format.There are altogether 12 houses and 12 zodiac sign (horoscope). The place where AS (Ascendant)  is written is always regarded as first house then after count anti-clock wise.The number written in the boxes are 12 zodiac signs.1st is for Aries, 2nd is for Taurus and so on.If the house where AS is written 5 then it  do not mean that is 5th house.It mean that Leo Zodiac sign is in 1st house.

Meaning of Zodiac: Zodiac is also known as bhachakra in hindi. According to vedic astrology,the heavenly bodies like stars and planets are moving in the sky, in the circular path, called zodiac or also called bhachakra in hindi. Zodiac is divided into two equal parts of 30° each. Each part is also called house and is represented by Zodiac sign.Each Zodiac sign is ruled by some planet and each planet is associated with some stars.There are 12 zodiac sign,9 planets and 27 stars or nakshatra in zodiac. On a paper zodiac is represented in a form of square.These square are divided into 12 houses of 30°.each.Each parts covers a space of 30°  and is called a house. Each house is represented by zodiac sign. So all together it is 360°(12x30°=360°)
